Massimo Romagnoli, former deputy of the Republic e current manager of Italians in the world for popular alternativehe took part in the Congress of the European People’s Party (PPE) held in Valencia, officially announcing his return to the European center -right. A return that starts from solid Sicilian roots: Romagnoli is in fact originally from Capo d’Orlando, in the province of Messina, a city where today, together with Brussels, the political secretariat and the representative offices of popular alternative is located.
“From Capo d’Orlando to Brussels, passing through Messina: my commitment to Italians abroad is a mission that starts from Sicily. My homeland is the starting point of a political project that wants to give a strong, European and modern voice to our communities in the world,” said Romagnoli.
Romagnoli was appointed manager of Italians in the world by Paolo Alli, President of the party, and by Stefano Bandecchi, national secretary, in October 2024
During the congress, Romagnoli had meetings with important figures of the Italian and European center -right, including Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Maria Stella Gelmini, Maurizio Lupi, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Roberta Metsola, and other institutional and parliamentary exponents.
A project that was born in Sicily and looks to the world. Popular alternative will launch a plan to strengthen its presence abroad in the coming months, which will actively involve the Italian communities of Sicilian origin. Among the main objectives announced: the first International Congress of Popular Alternative, scheduled in Frankfurt in November 2025, in preparation for the Comites elections;
the presentation of AP lists in all countries where Italian communities live, with a recognizable symbol and an organized structure; The consolidation of the party foreign network, with targeted institutional meetings and institutional initiatives.
“We will work to offer serious, strong and competent representation to Italians in the world, starting from our communities in Germany, Belgium, South America and Australia, but without ever forgetting where we come from – said Romagnoli -.
