The fourteenth month is coming but only for the less well-off pensioners. Tomorrow, July 1st, pensioners with lower incomes twice the minimum pension (15,563.86 euros in one year) will receive together with the pension instalment also the additional sum. There is also an age limit: you must be at least 18 years old 64 years old.
Income Limits and Safeguard Clause
However the income limit to get the benefit goes up a bit, up to 16,067.86 euros thanks to the safeguard clause for those who have at least 25 years of contributions paid. The safeguard clause is valid for each bracket and provides that, in the event that the individual annual total income is higher than 1.5 times or 2 times the minimum treatment and lower than this limit increased by additional amount duethe amount is paid up to the aforementioned increased limit.
Benefit amount
The benefit It ranges from 336 euros for those with less than 15 years of contributions if former employees (18 years if former self-employed) and an income between 1.5 and twice the minimum benefit, to 655 euros for those with at least 25 years of contributions (28 years if self-employed) and an income lower than 1.5 times the minimum pension (11,823.90 euros).
Income determination
For the determination of the income only the individual income of the holder is taken into account, consisting of the pension itself and income of any kind. Family allowances, attendance allowances, income from the home, severance pay and back pay are excluded. War pensions, allowances for the partially blind and the communication allowance for the deaf and dumb are also excluded.
Details on contributions paid
With contributions paid up to 15 years (up to 18 for self-employed workers) you are entitled to 437 euros if you have an income of up to 1.5 times the minimum benefit and to 336 euros if you have an income between 1.5 and twice the minimum benefit. If you have between 15 and 25 years of contributions (between 18 and 28 for self-employed workers) you are entitled to 546 euros if you have an income of up to 1.5 times the minimum benefit and to 420 if you have an income between 1.5 and twice the minimum benefit. If you have more than 25 years of contributions (28 self-employed workers) you are entitled to 655 euros if you have an income up to 1.5 times the minimum benefit and to 504 euros if you have an income between 1.5 and twice the minimum benefit.
