There is also Francesco Lopreiato, the man whose identity card was found in the possession of the then fugitive Pasquale Bonavota, among the people investigated and searched by the ROS of the Carabinieri of Genoa. In addition to the three arrested supporters (Antonio Serratore, Rocco Spagnolo and the former Filca-Cisl trade unionist Domenico Ceravolo) the DDA of Genoa has entered in the register of suspects six other subjects who would have in some way favored the absconding in Liguria of Bonavota, who was later acquitted in both proceedings involving him. According to the accusation, Lopreiato would have provided the details of his identity card (issued by the Municipality of Sant’Onofrio in 2015), as well as his health card and tax code. Documents that Bonavota would have used to produce a counterfeit specimen, while simultaneously keeping the original ones valid. Thus the fugitive would have managed to guarantee access to some important services, such as receiving money via money transfer. According to the DDA’s hypothesis, Bonavota would also have been given the vaccination certificate for Covid 19, thus allowing the fugitive to have the so-called green pass during the pandemic period.
His nephew Vincenzo Bonavota also appears in the register of suspects. The provision states that it would have ensured “material support” by guaranteeing communications with third parties between Piedmont and Calabria, also through the delivery of telephone cards in the name of third parties, exchanged in Genoa in August 2020 and August 2021.
