The Minister for Research and University, Anna Maria Bernini is a guest this morning at the inauguration ceremony of the academic year of the University of Calabria. Present with the government representative who praised the study and research activities conducted at the Arcavacata University is Georg Gottlob, 67 years old, Austrian, one of the greatest experts in the world in artificial intelligence, authentic king of information technology, who in a few week he will definitively abandon his professorship at Oxford to move to the University of Calabria. Gottlob worked together with rector Nicola Leone in a department of the Vienna Polytechnic from 1994 to 2000.
The scientist will hold a lectio magistralis – on artificial intelligence and ignorance – thus formalizing his entry into the university which will physically take place at the end of the year. The luminary, to whom Unical awarded an honorary degree in 2017, considers the Rende campus to be a highly advanced research site for his studies on database theory and AI. Gottlob was applauded for a long time by the audience present at the great hall. Doing the honors was Rector Leone who outlined in his speech the objectives that Unical has set for the years to come.

Occhiuto, “Andreatta’s dream came true at Unical”
