A good confiscated from the ‘Ndrangheta is reborn as a civil and cultural garrison. This is the message launched this morning at the Confcommercio Crotone headquarters, where a moment of sharing and institutional commitment was held in support of the home of the “Piersanti Mattarella” Legality of Isola di Capo Rizzuto, now managed by the Valencia Association.

The Library of Legality “Dodò Gabriele”, stably hosted at Confcommercio Crotone, throughout the summer season will provide over 200 volumes at the “Piersanti Mattarella” house, enriching the cultural and training initiatives that will animate the confiscated asset. This is accompanied by the donation of 2,000 euros by the SIB – Italian Balneari Union Confcommercio Crotone, the result of a collection among the operators in the sector, intended to bear the costs of restoring the premises, in the past subject to serious vandalism.

Today’s appointment, promoted by the “Valencia” association and by Confcommercio Crotone, was moderated by Giovanni Ferrarellidirector of Confcommercio Calabria Centrale, which highlighted the value of the initiative as a concrete example of alliance between civil society, institutions and business world.

At the speakers’ table they took turns Anthony Lo Bianco, President of the “Valencia” Association, which underlined the importance of returning places to the community once a symbol of criminal power, making them live and participatory spaces; Luca Manicapresident of Sib Confcommercio Crotone, promoter of fundraising between the seaside operators, who recalled the concrete commitment of the sector in supporting paths of legality and regeneration; and Emilia NocePresident of the FF of Confcommercio Crotone, who reiterated how respect for the rules is the foundation for healthy and lasting economic development.

The prosecutor of the Republic also present at the table, Domenico Guarasciowhich strongly underlined the symbolic and operational value of the return of the assets confiscated to the community, highlighting the importance of keeping supervision on these legality principals.

Following, the Quaestor of Crotone intervened, Renato Panvinowho wanted to reiterate the importance of protecting these places from any form of intimidation, recognizing their essential role as reference points for culture and social cohesion.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro, Crotone and Vibo Valentia, Pietro Alfredo Falboreaffirmed the commitment of the chamber system in promoting economic development and culture of legality as an inseparable combination.
