High speed: After some time, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport beats a blow and sends an official response, via PEC, al City Committee “On the move” With regard to the request for enhancing the Gioia Tauro station with new Frecciarossa train stops. The request, sent last November, is part of the historic battle that the Committee has been carrying out for years to guarantee the Pianigiano capital the infrastructure recognition it deserves.
According to the Ministry’s response, the mission of the Frecciarossa trains is to quickly connect the large urban centers, and the stops are decided on the basis of commercial criteria and economic sustainability. The Gioia Tauro station is already affected by four daily stops to and from Rome (it is not specified that these are asymmetrical stops), judged consistent with the estimated demand flows.
However, the “On Movement” Committee underlines that there is no official confirmation from Trenitalia on the new stops.
