At Special Tg1, tonight at 11.50 pm on Rai 1, Dania Mondini, through an accurate investigation between science and archaeomafie, retraces some of the many questions that remained open: Where do the Riace bronzes come from? Who represent? And then: were there only two? And what happened to their weapons? On the trail of unusual truths, new admissions of witnesses tinge the discovery in Calabria, while archaeometric studies – new investigation tools – reveal some secrets on the two warriors that the world admires and envies us.
Unpublished testimonies collected in Sicily, together with studies of university students and archaeologists, they patrol unusual areas of research, opening fascinating scenarios about old doubts, never completely dissipated. Fifty -three years after the discovery, the TG1 tells another story about the fortuitous discovery of the bronzes near Marina di Riace, that August 16, 1972, with exclusive documents and even a enigmatic photo.
