The new Agency which should manage all the port system authorities at a national level will soon be examined by Parliament. The Government’s bill is still at the beginning of the legislative process, but there is a clear desire from the Meloni executive to take the reins of a system which up to now, according to Roman rumours, is fragmented especially for the management of port concessions and budgets.
The decision notified at the end of the year by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to all system authorities can be understood in this way, with which “the provisional exercise of the 2026 budget forecast is authorized until 30 April 2026, limited, for each month, to one twelfth of the expenditure foreseen by each chapter”.
