Massimo Nucera, entrepreneur and leader of the Reggio ‘seaside resorts’, was not proclaimed mayor of the small Reggio municipality due to his presumed ineligibility for candidacy. The communication to the main polling station of the Municipality was notified by the prefecture of Reggio Calabria following the evaluation of the criminal record presented to the district electoral commission by Nucera.
Nucera, who headed a centre-right civic list, received 40.53% of valid votes, beating two other candidates for mayor from two civic lists with around a hundred votes difference. The municipality of Condofuri, which in the previous legislature was led by the centre-left, was placed under commissionership in 2025 due to the collapse of the council majority.
