During targeted extraordinary services, conducted in close synergy between the Petilia Policastro military and the special departments of the Carabinieri, numerous investigations were carried out which made it possible to detect violations of a criminal and administrative nature.

In particular, right in Petilia, the Carabinieri of the local station, together with the soldiers of the Labor Inspectorate Unit of Crotone, carried out an inspection at a public construction site relating to the renovation works of a school building. During the inspection, several safety violations were ascertained, including the absence of suitable fire-fighting equipment, deficiencies in the emergency risk assessment, irregularities regarding the training of the workers’ safety representative and critical issues in the management of construction site debris. At the conclusion of the investigations, the legal representative of the executing company was reported in a state of freedom to the Crotone Prosecutor’s Office, with the simultaneous raising of fines of over 5,800 euros.

Similar attention was also paid to the sector of public businesses and private clubs. In Roccabernarda, the Carabinieri of the local station, with the staff of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, carried out a targeted service at some businesses in the area, finding violations of the legislation regarding legal and prohibited games within a private club. Also in this case, the person responsible for the activity was handed over to the Judicial Authority in a state of freedom.

The carabinieri of the NOR – Aliquota Radiomobile of Petilia Policastro have instead released a local man, a pensioner, into custody, as he was held responsible for having threatened some young minors in the city centre, at the height of previous tensions originating from noise and disturbance of public peace. During the intervention the military proceeded with the criminal seizure of a knife. Further investigations aimed at completely reconstructing the matter are still underway.

Also in Petilia Policastro, an arrest order issued by the Salerno Prosecutor’s Office was carried out against a man residing in the Petilino centre, definitively convicted. The subject was transferred to the Catanzaro prison, where he will have to serve his prison sentence.
