A ceremony to reward some excellent Calabrian personalities who have distinguished themselves in various fields, but also a special showcase for the artistic talents of the area and a celebration of solidarity for the closing of the regional Christmas Telethon campaign. Everything is ready for the Silver Carlino Award which returns with its sixth edition on Sunday 17 December, at 5pm, at the Politeama Theater in Catanzaro. This morning at a press conference the names of the winners were revealed: the award for the Culture section will go to Armando Vitalethat for the visual arts and performing arts disciplines a Gabriele VagnatoCommitment to social issues a Noemi Canino, Youth entrepreneurship ad Antonio Mazzathe Special Prize a Giovanni Scambia. The world of school, TV, sport, economics and medicine represented by young and expert professionals – selected by the commission chaired by Anna Russo – and who, from Catanzaro, have also managed to gain national attention.
Illustrating the details of the Award this morning, which depicts the iconic Catanzaro coin in the creation of Antonio Affidato, was the creator Yves Catanzaro who highlighted the commitment made to grow an event that wants to tell, through illustrious witnesses, the story and the identity of the territory, with an eye also aimed at the new generations. It is no coincidence, in fact, that the event presented by Domenico Gareri, seewill feature an artistic cast characterized by the presence of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory band, with its students and teachers, and the Politeama Theater Dance School which includes several young dance talents. And again the fashion show of the Calabrian designer Azzurra Di Lorenzo. The event will have its prologue with the Culture Day, promoted in collaboration with the Leo Club Catanzaro Host: Friday 15 December, from 9.30, guided tour of the San Giovanni Complex and the municipal historical archive; Saturday 16 December, from the morning, conference and workshop at ITT Chimirri on new frontiers related to fashion and, in the afternoon, guided tours of the historic centre.
The event can count on the support of the institutional network led by the municipal administration of Catanzaro, represented by the councilors for Tourism and CultureAntonio Borelli And Donatella Monteverdiand by the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro-Crotone-Vibo Valentia with its president Pietro Falboas well as by the Politeama Foundation with the general director Aldo Costa. The Silver Carlino Award also sees thanks to the Italian Federation of Popular Traditions, led by Franco Megnathe birth of a new partnership with the Telethon Foundation and its regional coordinator Raffaele Marasco: next Sunday will be the final event of the Christmas campaign to support scientific research on rare genetic diseases. Not only that, the declared commitment is to start a path that will consolidate the presence of the Award and the city of Catanzaro at a national level within the traditional Telethon marathon on the Rai networks.
