The participation of the Reggio Calabria Chamber of Commerce in the International Experiential Tourism Exchange – Bitesp, which was held in Venice on 23 and 24 November and online on 30 November, ended with great success.

The reference event for experiential tourism operators and incoming specialists featured 9 operators from the metropolitan area who were involved in around 150 B2B meetings with Italian and foreign buyers.

The Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria, was present with its own institutional stand to promote knowledge of the Reggio Calabria area and the tourist offer organized by the operators who join the Chamber’s project “Reggio Calabria Welcome” , as well as to tell the general public about the different cultural and outdoor, trekking and nature experiences that can be experienced by visiting the tip of the boot.

There were 2 speeches during the event: the first relating to the Villages and Tourist Aggregations during which the President Dr. Antonino Tramontana illustrated the path of the Reggio Calabria Welcome project, from its establishment to the aggregation of tourist operators and local authorities, to the various initiatives undertaken over the last few years to enhance and raise awareness of the peculiarities of our territory; in the second speech, dedicated to Outdoors and Trekking, the hiking and environmental guide of the Aspromonte National Park Roberta Eliodoro recounted the evolution of the tourist offer in the field of experiences to be had in the open air, with a timely presentation of the our territory, from the sea to the mountains, without neglecting the immense cultural heritage linked to Magna Graecia.

On the afternoon of November 23, the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, institutional partner of the Chamber of Commerce in this event and promoter of various joint initiatives to enhance the territory and its excellence, organized a territorial animation event with the presentation and tasting of products typical local confectionery, attracting great attention from visitors and buyers.

Participation in Bitesp gave us confirmation of the path already undertaken in 2021 and 2022, with the promotion actions of the Reggio Calabria destination, aimed at the national and foreign markets – declared the President of the Reggio Calabria Chamber of Commerce Antonino Tramontana. The Reggio Calabria Welcome project is now consolidated, and initiatives of this kind make people aware and appreciate the good things that our territory offers, in terms of tourism, experiences in the cultural, sporting, food and wine fields.

Our commitment is aimed above all at ensuring that these opportunities can translate into concrete commercial opportunities for our companies, for the 2024 season, as well as at strengthening the public partnership to make the numerous landscape and cultural resources preserved in the metropolitan area of Reggio Calabria.
