Extraordinary maintenance works were delivered, improvement of the safety and conservative recovery conditions along the SS.PP. 64 – 104 Dism, in the presence of the metropolitan deputy mayor Carmelo Versaceof the RUP Giuseppe Italiano and of the winner GP Srls for an amount of about 182 thousand euros.
The interventions are aimed at restoring the roadway, characterized by problems relating to the deterioration of both the mantle and the lateral protection barriers (guard-rail and concrete parapets) as well as the cleaning of escarpments, arginelli and cunette affected by the presence of vegetation and inert along all travel.
“The works – says the deputy mayor Versace – have the aim of restoring the viability state of a disadvantaged and unhealthy stretch, especially in anticipation of the summer and the arrival of the numerous tourists and visitors for a strongly characteristic place both on a landscape and historical level, just think of the presence of the castle of Palizzi which will soon be returned to the Municipality of Palizzi after a long restoration by the Superintendency of Fine Arts of Reggio Calabria Vibo Valentia “.
The roads subject to intervention are: the SP 64, a connection road between Marina Palizzi and Superiore Palizzi; SP 104 Dism. Main connection road between upper Palizzi and Pietrapennata. From analysis carried out on site, the road plan is affected in some sections of the deterioration of bitumen and in others the lowering/failure of the same.
The works to be carried out extend for the entire travel of the SS.PP. 64-104 Dism., However, at times occasional and with differentiation of the types of works to be carried out. Particular attention will be paid to the safety of the roads, intervening mainly on the installation of withholding systems, distinguishing itself in metal barriers (guard-rails) and works in concrete and, moreover, the remake of the road surface where necessary, with antecedent milling of the same and subsequent laying of the road mat providing, where there are departures or installments of the road surface, the restoration of the bitumen available. Along the entire journey, the appropriate horizontal signs will also be affixed, also prevented in the project.
