The exhibition “Sandokan in Calabria – the places of the series”, dedicated to the TV series, has been extended until 30 April 2026 Sandokanproduced by Lux Vide, a Fremantle Group company, in collaboration with Rai Fiction for Rai1, with the support of the Calabria Film Commission. After the broadcast of the series on Rai1, now also available on RaiPlay, Disney+ in Italy and on Netflix in various countries around the world, the public will be able to continue to visit the installations.
The sets and decorations
It will therefore still be possible to admire the original clothes and props within the settings where the backlot was created in the former Sir industrial area of Lamezia Terme, with the sets of Consulate of Labuanprisons and the refuge of Singapore.
A cultural project
The exhibition was born from a synergistic work that implemented musealization strategies applied to a film and television set, unprecedented for the Calabrian area, giving new life to environments and objects and making them accessible to the public also for educational and cultural purposes. The management of the visits is entrusted to professionals in the museum and cultural planning sectors of the Kiwi Cooperative Society.
Visitors and activities
To date, the exhibition has been visited by almost 5,000 people, including several school groups. The programming is constantly developing and includes thematic itineraries, educational activities and initiatives dedicated to inclusion, with specific proposals for schools and for different types of audiences.
Hours and access
The exhibition will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9.00 to 16.30, with last entry at 16.30, until 30 April 2026. During the Easter period it will be closed on 5 and 6 April. Entrance is free.
