On the weekend of 13 and 14 April 2024 the “Alfredo Romboli” Sports Hall in Colleferro (Rome) will host the second round of the Italian Table Football Championships 2023/2024.

48 clubs from all over Italy (from Aosta to Palermo) are participating in the sporting event, the most important on the national miniature football competitive circuit, for a total of around 300 players present, including the best athletes in the world of this discipline (among others, the reigning Open Individual World Champion, Luca Colangelo, and the Spaniard Carlos Flores, winner of the Open Individual European Champion title in 2023).

The event is organised, as usual, by the Italian Sports Federation of Table Football (FISCT) in collaboration with the National Subbuteo Sector of the Organization for Sports Education (OPES, a sports promotion body recognized by CONI) and with the patronage of the Municipality of Colleferro.

Fiamme Azzurre Roma leaders in Serie A. The fight for promotion in Serie B is exciting

The first round, played in San Benedetto del Tronto (AP) last October, ended with Fiamme Azzurre Roma in the lead in Serie A, thus confirming themselves as the main candidates for winning the Scudetto. Behind them, the Eagles Napoli and Barcellona Calcio Tavolo, tied on equal points, and the F.lli Bari Reggio Emilia, just one point behind the direct pursuers of the leaders. Another Capitoline team, SPQR MMIX Subbuteo, is currently leading Serie B, where the situation still appears very balanced, with the sixth in the standings just five points behind the current leaders. Finally, in Serie C, Foggia stands out, alone at the top of group B, and Napoli Pirates and Sessana, first, with equal points, in group A.

The Italian Table Football Team Championships

Organized for the first time in the 1984/85 season, the Italian Table Football Championships were held continuously until 2019/2020, when, due to the Covid19 pandemic, the competition was suspended after having only played the round of first leg, consequently validating the rankings obtained up to that point, and assigning the title of Italian Champions, for the third consecutive time, to the Fiamme Azzurre Roma. In 2022 the championship returned to the original formula, with the home and away groups, however played in the same calendar year, and also in this case the victory was recorded by the aforementioned Capitoline team, which has therefore won five of the last six editions of the tournament.

This season the first round was played on the weekend of 7 and 8 October 2023, while the second round will be played on the weekend of 13 and 14 April 2024, with the consequent awarding of the Scudetto and all the verdicts relating to promotions and relegations.

The most successful teams, at the moment, are ACS Perugia and F.lli Bari Reggio Emilia, with 6 titles won, followed closely, with 5 successes each, by Eagles Napoli, Stella Artois Milano and, indeed, Fiamme Azzurre Rome.
