For those who organize it, the” Mutual Aid Warehouse – Aeolian warehouse “association, under the artistic direction of Sara Basile, is” an act of civil resistance, with a goal: to bring the quality cinema among the people of Lipari restoring the pleasure of the seventh art to the islanders, given that, despite the Aeolians are historically loved by Italian directors and filmmakers. foreigners, none of the seven islands has a cinema room “.

“Cinema loves the Aeolian Islands – he comments Sara Basile – but, paradoxically, the Aeolian people do not live it and cannot appreciate it for the total absence in the seven islands of cinemas. This review is an act of civil resistance and a gift for our community. In fact, although the Aeolian archipelago has become famous, in the last century, thanks to the seventh art – we think of “Stromboli. Land of God” and “Vulcano”, not to mention the experimental underwater shots of Francesco Alliata with Panaria, of Antonioni, Moretti, Radford with “The postman” of Troisi and recently the filming of Christopher Nolan for his “Odissea” – To date, in any of the seven Aeolians has survived any cinema room. Summer, therefore, is a privileged moment for the islanders and for the thousands of visitors on vacation to enjoy cinema under the stars: not only a moment of sharing in the magical atmosphere of the islands, but also the opportunity for knowledge, dialogue and cultural enrichment thanks to the presence of prestigious and expert guests “.
