The University of Messina advances on various fronts, on others it holds, in any case it confirms itself as a University of international importance. The “QS World University Ranking by Subject 2026” has been published, the annual report that analyzes universities around the world. There are over 20 thousand, those selected were 7 thousand and those that managed to enter the ranking, even just for one parameter, are 1500. Well, UniMe sees the new entry of “Agriculture&Forestry” which stands between 301st and 350th place in the world ranking; Furthermore, compared to last year, “Chemistry” advances 50 positions, placing itself between 501st and 550th place. UniMe also ranks well for medical disciplines, in particular among the top 400 in the world for “Pharmacy&Pharmacology” and among the top 700 for “Medicine”. The disciplines are classified according to 5 macro-areas – “Arts & Humanities”, “Engineering & Technology”, “Life Science & Medicine”, “Natural Science” and “Social Science & Management” – and 55 subjects.
The Peloritana University obviously cannot compete with the global giants, but its “performance” and the degree of internationalization achieved are particularly appreciated. There is objective growth and the perception that there is still unexpressed potential, which could lead to a further leap in quality.
