Revolutionary Guards announce attack on ‘enemy bases’
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have announced they have attacked “enemy bases” in the region, following US air strikes against radar installations in Iran. In a statement broadcast by state television IRIB, as reported by AFP, the Iranian army said that “enemy bases in the region were hit by aerial missiles”. Kuwait and Bahrain, two countries that host major US military bases in the Gulf, had previously issued warnings of possible airstrikes.
Sirens sounded in Bahrain, ‘appeal to the population to reach safe places’
After the alarm was raised in Kuwait which was responding to an attack with missiles and drones, the Interior Minister of Bahrain, as reported by the Tasnim agency, asked residents to go to the nearest safe place. In Bahrain, warning sirens were activated and flights were suspended, as well as in Kuwait.
