The Vibo Valentia Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to shed light on the death of Romania Piccolo, 43 years old, from Tropea, but resident in Longobardi (a hamlet of Vibo Valentia). The woman died yesterday in the intensive care unit of the Jazzolino hospital in Vibo Valentia where she had been admitted due to a haemorrhage.
The woman’s family – and in particular her husband, Bruno Virdò, who filed a complaint with the Vibo police – claim that there was a delay of over an hour before the arrival of an ambulance to transport the woman to hospital. Here she would have died a few hours after hospitalization.
The investigation is in the hands of the prosecutor of the Vibo Valentia Prosecutor’s Office, Eugenia Belmonte, who ordered the seizure of the body to proceed with the autopsy in order to ascertain any criminal responsibility for the incident.
