The Vibonese market closes without further shocks. The wildcard Nunziante and the young attacking winger Napolitano remain the only players to enter this winter session. The sporting director Ettore Meli, in agreement with the president Pippo Caffo and the coach Michele Facciolo, has decided not to force his hand and not to take other players just for the sake of it.
However, a clarification is necessary: the rossoblù market remains wide open. Once the window dedicated to Amateurs has closed, we are looking at professionals with the transfer campaign which will officially open its doors starting from Thursday 2 January. This means that Serie D clubs will be able to sign players from Serie A, B or C and, alternatively, sign all currently released players.
Once one door closes, a door opens with the opportunity to fish in a much larger market. A strategy followed not only by Vibonese but, apparently, also by Siracusa, Scafatese and Reggina whose incoming movements have remained reduced to the bare minimum with an interested gaze on the Profs whose market is already in fibrillation.
The courage to wait could reward those who want to invest in strengthening the squad with quality players who, for one reason or another, have not found space or have not had luck in the higher categories. After all, the Christmas break is only one match away and it’s worth the wait.
The rossoblù club will undoubtedly try to find Fabio Alagna’s assistant among the professionals with the aim of having him available for January 5th when the championship will enter its downward spiral with the start of the second round.
