The cyclist Kevin Bonaldo, 25 years old, passed away this morning in the Vicenza hospital after a month of agony. He was struck by an illness last September 21st at the end of the «Piccola Sanremo» in Sovizzo (Vicenza). This was announced by his company, Sc Padovani Polo Cherry Bank. After being rescued by health workers following the demonstration, Bonaldo was hospitalized in intensive care at the San Bortolo Hospital. Over the course of these weeks he had given signs that had given rise to hope for his recovery, but in the last few hours his condition worsened until his death this morning.
From Treviso di Loria, Kevin Bonaldo began competing as a G1 with the UC Loria jersey, then moving on to the ranks of UC Giorgione, Vc Bassano with which, among the students, he obtained a second place in the Italian team time trial championship. A result repeated among the Under 23s, in 2021, with Team Qhubeka. Having arrived at Sc Padovani Polo Cherry Bank this year, after the experiences gained at Zalf Euromobil Désirée Fior and Work Service, he obtained a fifth international place in the fourth stage of the Dookoła Mazowsza in Poland.
