The concept of the new San Vito – Gigi Marulla stadium was presented this morning during a press conference held in the reception hall of Palazzo dei Bruzi.
The project imagines the new facility not only as a structure intended for football matches, but also as a driver of urban redevelopment for the entire sector of the Via degli Stadi area. The objective is to create a modern, functional stadium capable of becoming a point of reference for the city of Cosenza, with spaces intended for activities and services that can be used throughout the year.
During the meeting, the different phases of the project were illustrated, starting from the first intervention, which involves the bringing together of the two curves of the San Vito – Marulla, financed through the CIPESS with an amount of 7 million and 200 thousand euros, as established by resolution no. 17 of 2024 as part of the FSC Programming 2021–2027.
The press conference was attended by the mayor of Cosenza Franz Caruso, the councilor for public works Damiano Covelli, the architect Riccardo Cefarelli of the “Gau Arena” engineering company, who drew up the technical-economic feasibility project of the concept, and the manager of the Municipality’s Infrastructure Sector, Salvatore Modesto.
