The prompt intervention of the Carabinieri of the Cataforio station thwarted an attempted theft in a home in Cataforio, allowing two men to be arrested. A rapid and effective action that prevented the crime from taking place and guaranteed the safety of a usually quiet area. The operation was triggered following a report of a theft in progress which reached the Operations Centre. The soldiers of the Cataforio station, with the support of the Radiomobile Section of the city company, intervened immediately, surprising the two men inside the courtyard of the targeted house.
The two, equipped with break-in tools, attempted to escape control by fleeing into the surrounding land, but were caught and blocked after a short chase. During the intervention, the police found and seized the tools used to force entry into the building. The two, caught in the act of committing a crime, were arrested and made available to the Judicial Authority.
