Fear today in the heart of the Pollino National Park, where Two elderly hikers were lost during a walk in the impervious area of the Raganello gorges, between the municipalities of Civita and San Lorenzo Bellizzi. The two men, who left at dawn to collect oregano, did not return, triggering the alarm by family members.
The research, starting shortly after the disappearance report, involved the firefighters of the Provincial Command of Cosenza, detachment of Castrovillari, in collaboration with the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza. The area in which the two had ventured is particularly impervious and difficult to reach by land, which made complex and delicate operations.
After hours of patrolling, the rescuers managed to locate the two hikers: one in good health, the other wounded after slipping along a escarpment and having brought several traumas.
