In the four pages written immediately yesterday and immediately sent to the 9 departments that manage the almost two billion Pnrr funds assigned to Sicily, Renato Schifani put in writing that the loss of funding will correspond to the removal from office of the managers who have not spent the resources in time (by 30 June). And, secondly, since losing funds would expose the Region to a national fine equal to five times the value of the unspent sums, the president anticipated that he will ask the heads of the snail departments to account for these huge fines.
At Palazzo d’Orleans it was another red alert day regarding the PNRR funds, allocated by the EU after the pandemic for the restart in addition to normal community funding. Schifani started from the analysis of the data provided by the regional control room and revealed yesterday by the Giornale di Sicilia: out of a budget of one billion and 971 million, the expenditure initiated amounts to just over 500 million (27.9%) and that reported is stuck at a worrying 7.4% which corresponds to approximately 150 million.
