As a result of investigations coordinated by the Vibo Valentia Public Prosecutor’s Office and carried out by the Vibo Valentia Flying Squad this morning, the precautionary measure of theobligation to reside in the municipality of residence issued by the GIP of Vibo Valentia against a person held responsible for the crime of violence or threat to a political, administrative or judicial body or to its individual members.
The criminal proceedings originate from the transmission of a writing containing threatening expressions towards the Prefect of Vibo Valentia, who chairs the Committee for Public Order and Security of the Province of Vibo Valentia and towards a member of the administrative body, namely the Access Commission for a municipality in the Vibo area to prevent it in whole or in part or to otherwise disturb its activity.
This writing, addressed to a member of the Access Commission, was personally delivered by the suspect to the local Prefecture, close to the date set for the meeting of the Committee for Public Order and Security dedicated to examining the findings of the inspection activity on the municipality under investigation.
At the end of the delegated activity, at the request of the Public Prosecutor in charge of the file, the competent GIP, following further preliminary investigation, issued the precautionary measure of the obligation to reside in the municipality of residence which was carried out today, subject to notification of the measure to the suspect.
