Federico Tomasoni finished in second place in the Olympic ski cross competition at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games, transforming the final into a meaningful tribute to the memory of Matilde Lorenzi, the young skier who tragically died in October 2024 during training in Val Senales.
A medal with special value
The Italian faced the Olympic event with a constant thought of Matilde. Already during the qualifiers she had chosen to bring with her a distinctive sign dedicated to her, symbol of a bond that continues beyond her absence.
