Tadej Pogačar (UAE Emirates) won the 19th stage of the Tour de France, the 144.6 km Embrun-Isola 2000, his fourth partial success in this edition of the race. The yellow jersey overcame a two-minute deficit on the final climb over the American Matteo Jorgenson, who was leading alone, and with another show of strength he is ready to be crowned on Sunday at the final finish line in Nice.

Pogacar spread his arms under the finish line in a bow and then showed his hand with four fingers raised, underlining his fourth feat in the mountains in this Tour. Jorgenson finished in second place with a gap of 21 seconds from the Slovenian, third was the British Simon Yates, at 40”, and fourth the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz, at 1’11”. Remco Evenepoel and Jonas Vingegaard arrived together, at 1’42”, who when Pogacar attacked to take the victory were unable to keep up with his pace.
