An Italian tourist has been fined 400 euros for damaging the main entrance to the Maltese Prime Minister’s Office in Valletta. It’s about a 20-year-old from Crotone, who was tracked down by the Maltese police after having ridden around with a scooter, going up and down the steps in front of the headquarters of the Maltese Prime Minister. Police checked CCTV footage after the Italian posed for a photo. The suspect admitted to intentionally damaging the steps protected as part of Malta’s cultural heritage. He was stopped by the police during the night and taken to court on Monday. The damages, assessed by the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage, amount to 400 euros.
