Towards the administrative elections in Reggio, the centre-right is aiming for Palazzo San Giorgio

Two years of Meloni government… Three years of regional government led by Occhiuto… the center-right claimed with great emphasis the work carried out in favor of the Calabrians in a packed Cilea theatre. But the representatives of the centre-right did not just rejoice in the successes of the past, they also set themselves a short-term objective: the reconquest of the Municipality of Reggio (and the Metropolitan City).

After all, it was enough to look out from Cilea to see Palazzo San Giorgio and, in the words of Paolo Villaggio, «have monstrously forbidden dreams». The data has been drawn, therefore, and the centre-right electoral campaign has already begun on Sunday afternoon at the “Cilea”. The main problem will be finding a candidate who can summarize all the souls of the coalition. The optimum would be the fresh MEP Giusi Princi but, for the moment, she prefers to gloss over: «There are many resources in the city to be exploited. I like my role in Brussels, from there I believe I can be very useful in Reggio and Calabria.” While waiting, therefore, to anesthetize the possible “salvation” always around the corner (Cannizzaro is clear on this point: «The candidate for mayor will be chosen in Reggio») the hunt for the right candidate has already begun.

Meanwhile, the echoes of Cilea’s great parade have not yet died down and it is the Calabrian coordinators of the 5 center-right parties who take them up again: «A “Cilea” so packed has perhaps never been seen in history. So much so that we were forced, for safety reasons, to bar the entrances to the Theater to prevent the additional hundreds of people who flocked to the theater on Sunday afternoon for the centre-right demonstration. It is precisely to each of them that we apologize, and thank them for having given their contribution anyway. There will certainly be other opportunities in the short term to demonstrate how great the enthusiasm and affection is around the Coalition that governs the country and the Region.”
