Turkey today imposed limits on the export of numerous goods to Israel, including steel, iron and aluminum products, the Turkish Ministry of Commerce announced. «This decision will remain in force until Israel declares an immediate ceasefire and will allow continued access of humanitarian aid to Gaza,” the ministry said in a statement.
Israel's response is ready. “Erdogan is once again sacrificing the economic interests of the Turkish people for his support for Hamas: we will respond accordingly and prepare an extended list of additional products that Israel will prevent Turkey from exporting.” The Israeli foreign minister said so Israel Katz after the “unilateral” Turkish decision to stop the export of products to Israel. Israel – the ministry said – will appeal “to pro-Israeli countries and organizations in the US to stop investments in Turkey and prevent the import of products from Turkey” and to impose “sanctions”.
