With the Winter Experience we consolidate further our efforts and, in the coming months, we will offer our travelers new connections for a more complete and flexible experience” declared Trenitalia’s CEO, Luigi Corradi.

For those who choose Sicily as a destination to spend the Christmas holidays, the entire offer of Intercity Days to and from Rome and Intercity Nights connecting Rome and Milan to Sicily has been confirmed. From 10 December, the ferrying of some Intercity trains between Calabria and Sicily will be carried out with battery-powered locomotives, with a consequent saving in terms of emissions. 32 BluJet (FS Italiane Group) high-speed transport runs between Messina and Villa San Giovanni which guarantee daily connections with the Frecce arriving and departing from Villa San Giovanni, which continue to Rome, Milan, Turin and Venice, and with the Intercity trains that depart from Reggio Calabria and continue the journey to Rome and Milan, and a pair of Intercity Notte trains that continue to Turin, for a better ship-train connection.

Connections that integrate with the offer for the Palermo Passante, which on weekdays includes 73 trains between Palermo and Palermo Airport, differentiated between semi-fast trains (10 stops and an average journey time of 49 minutes with a frequency of 1 train per hour ) and trains that make all intermediate stops between origin and destination (16 stops and an average journey time of 60 minutes with a frequency of 1 train per hour). Furthermore, in the Palermo Notarbartolo station, the interchange with services to and from Palermo Giachery is perfected (1 connection Palermo Notarbartolo – Palermo Giachery every 30 minutes).

Combined services
