Intensified police checks in Tropea have led to the reporting of a woman for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs. The officers carried out checks on a car left parked on the public road for some time and in a clear state of abandonment. The vehicle, found to be owned by a woman and without insurance, had the doors closed but not properly locked.
During a visual check from the outside, the police noticed a vacuum-packed bag containing what appeared to be a narcotic substance. At that point the vehicle was searched. Inside the passenger compartment, 203.5 grams of marijuana, 67.1 grams of cocaine and two fully functional electronic scales were found and seized. Flying Squad personnel also intervened on site to complete the investigations.
Although the car was disused, the owner had full availability of it, as she was in possession of the keys. For this reason the woman was handed over to the judicial authorities in a state of freedom.
