Molinari: yes to aid but Zelensky clarifies about corruption
«Unfortunately we are seeing what is happening on the field, Russia is continuing to advance. Without Western help the war would not have lasted so long. But we want to be sure that this Western aid really serves to defend Ukraine. The corruption scandal involving the Zelensky government is not something that can be ignored: it concerns ministers chosen by him and businessmen, including one with whom he had a company that launched his film career.
It is in the interest of the Ukrainian people to have clarity.” Riccardo Molinari, leader of the League in the Chamber, stated this on Ping Pong, Rai Radio1, answering the question on the different opinions in the majority regarding support for Ukraine. On the January vote on the framework decree, Molinari adds: “We all voted for them. Generally I think we will continue to support Ukraine, but we hope that Zelensky will clarify what happened, first and foremost out of respect for those kids who die on the front.”
