“A few months ago we expressed our compliments to the Fiorita council for having put the Janò area at the center of attention, with a request for two and a half million euros to the Calabria Region for an intervention that could finally be decisive on the fight against hydrogeological instability. Today the good news arrived from the national government that that money will be transferred to the Municipality of Catanzaro on the basis of the request sent by the municipal administration”. This was stated in a note by the city councilors Fabio Celia and Francesco Scarpino.
“A result that rewards the work of the former councilor Raffaele Scalise and the technical offices, which have also prepared a feasibility document with a series of technical proposals on the works to be carried out for a neighbourhood, which has been abandoned to its fragility for too long, and which now – according to Celia and Scarpino – will be able to look to the future with greater serenity. We know how much the administration, alone, does not have the strength to influence such a complex problem which, years later, still sees the Janò territory facing a dangerous fragility. The important funding allocated to Catanzaro will allow the implementation of a civil protection and safety intervention, capable of healing the wounds of the past and regenerating an area of the city whose residents have long been waiting for a concrete response from the institutions. A beautiful example of collaboration between bodies, from the national to the regional and municipal level, which crowned a precise political choice for the benefit of the community”.
