“I’m very happy to be back in Calabria to tell University students about my experience on sets and at film festivals and present my latest production, the short documentary entitled “Thanks Lina”, a tribute to the great director Lina Wertmuller directed by Yari Gugliucci and produced by me with Alfiere Productions”. So does the film producer Daniele Urciuolo explained to AGI the importance of the masterclass that will take place atUniversity of Calabria next November 27th.
The initiative, dedicated to film production, was organized by the “Cineincontriamoci” festival in collaboration with the Department of Humanistic Studies (Disu) thanks to the sensitivity of professors Carlo Fanelli and Giusy Gallo. Urciuolo’s “Alfiere production” has produced numerous short films, feature films and television commercials and has also taken care of many national film festivals (Catania film festival, Formia Film Festival etc.). At the end of this advanced training course, students will be able to view the docufilm dedicated to the Oscar-winning director Lina Wertmüller entitled “Thanks Lina” directed by Yari Gugliucci and produced by Urciuolo himself. “I immediately embraced the idea of Cineincontriamoci of my friend Mattia Scaramuzzo – added Urciuolo – aimed at creating a cycle of meetings dedicated to cinema workers to enrich the training proposal in Calabria. An opportunity not to be missed.”
The work will be concluded by Mattia Scaramuzzo, project manager of “CineIncontriamoci”, who strongly wanted the continuation of the Masterclasses dedicated to young Calabrians and is very proud of the event which will be held at Unical: «Training has always been a point fundamental to the cultural project that “Cineincontriamoci” has been carrying out for years. For this reason we will continue to promote cinema in all its forms, offering young people the opportunity to study and train in our region.” Partner of this day will also be the producer Francesco Oliva of “Noigroup”, who with Scaramuzzo is creating the CineIncontriamoci television format on the “Noiplay” platform.
