The seminar of studies entitled “Giacomo Matteotti, anti -fascist, jurist, pacifist, symbol of freedom”, an important moment of reflection on the figure of the socialist politician, martyr of freedom and democracy took place. The event saw the participation of experts and academics who analyzed Matteotti’s thought and political legacy. Professor coordinated and introduced the seminar Alessandro Morelli, Director of the Department of Political and Legal Sciences of the University of Messina, who underlined the topicality of the Matteottian message in an era in which democratic values ​​must be constantly defended and promoted. Among the important interventions, that of Giorgio Benvenuto, President of the Bruno Buozzi Foundation, who deepened Matteotti’s contribution to the anti -fascist struggle and his role as a symbol of the moral and political resistance to the regime. His figure, Benvenuto highlighted, still represents a lighthouse for those who believe in social justice and freedom.

The teachers of the University of Messina also took part in the debate Maurizio Ballistreri, Salvatore Bottari, Santi Fedele and Giovanni Moschellawho enriched the discussion with historical, legal and political insights on Matteotti’s life and thought.
