The action to strengthen the internal organization and efficiency of the University’s governance services continues. The rector, Professor Giovanna Spatari, integrated the College of Vice-Rectors and conferred two new delegations.
The following were appointed Vice-Rectors:
• Prof. Carlo Vermiglio, Professor of Business Economics at the Department of Economics, who was already the Rector’s delegate for the Budget and who now, with the new role, will also take care of the reporting tools;
• Prof. Filippo Benedetto, Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Department of Biomedical, Dental and Morphological and Financial Imaging Sciences, already delegated to the Specialization Schools, will be Vice-Rector of University Health;
• Prof. Marina Trimarchi, Associate of Experimental Physics at the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences and Earth Sciences, already delegated to the Third Mission, will maintain the same delegation as Vice-Rector.

At the same time, the delegation for gender policies was conferred on Prof. Vittoria Calabrò, Professor of History of Political Institutions at the Department of Political and Legal Sciences, and former President of the CUG (Single Guarantee Committee) of the University.
Prof. Valentina Prudente, Researcher at the Department of Political and Legal Sciences, received the delegation to the decentralized offices.
“The new appointments – states Rector Giovanna Spatari – represent a further step towards a governance model capable of responding effectively and quickly to the needs of the University, improving services, strengthening strategic activities and enhancing diversified skills. The choice to strengthen delegations in key sectors such as budget, healthcare, third mission, gender policies and decentralized offices confirms an inclusive vision oriented towards sustainable development of the University of Messina”.
The Rector also wished the appointed professors and professors good luck in their work, with the hope of fruitful collaboration.
