“This academic year, the Calabria Region – also thanks to the positive work of the Departments ‘Health and Welfare’ and ‘Education, Training and Equal Opportunities’ – is making an unprecedented commitment in the field of specialist medical training. The Region, in fact, has decided to allocate 12 million euros to allow the scrolling of the rankings of the national competition for the assignment of medical specialization scholarships. Thanks to this important investment, Calabrian universities will be able to include as many as 100 doctors – 77 at the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro and 23 at the University of Calabria in Cosenza – as specialists in the departments connected to the Faculties of Medicine”. Thus Roberto Occhiutopresident of the Calabria Region.
“The Calabria Region has officially communicated to the Ministry of University the availability of these resources, which represent a commitment never guaranteed in the past. This investment – according to Occhiuto – represents a fundamental step towards strengthening our health and academic system.
Collaboration with the university system is crucial to build a Calabria that knows how to enhance its excellence, build value, and bet on our extraordinary young people. The goal is to create new skills to improve the quality of healthcare in the Region, while also trying to retain the best minds. Investing in human capital means investing in the future of Calabria”.
