Winners and losers. Needless to say, the day after is made of celebrations, analysis and recriminations. The race at Palazzo Campanella, in the three circumscriptions, was short but intense: now the time has come to pull the sums. And the polls, as always, have given many confirmations, as well as as many surprises. Including some sensational flops: more or less known faces of politics will remain outside the new regional council, that of the thirteenth legislature, in the face of the expectations of the eve and forecasts of those who gave them to elected even before the opening of the seats.
The rundown of the defeats can only start from the outgoing regional councilors who did not make it. One, which brings an illustrious surname of Calabrian politics, is Katya Gentile: just passed by Forza Italia to the League, in the North Circumscription it is overcome on the list of the Carroccio by Orlandino Greco. Pietro Molinaro and Sabrina Mannarino also went badly, both detached in the team of Fratelli d’Italia for the Cosenza district not only by the elected Angelo Brutto and Luciana De Francesco, but also by Francesco Spadafora and, the second, also from Rosa Pignataro. Still, in the confirmed majority, the outgoing Michele Comito (Forza Italia, today Occhiuto President, Centro Circumscription, burned for just under 400 preferences by Emanuele Ionà), Pietro Raso (third place in the list of the Lega in the Centro District) and Antonello Talerico (Forza Italia, Central District, passed by the elected Sergio Ferrari and Marco Polimeni, as well as by Elisabetta Aiello) are missing today.
