A cowardly vandalism hit one of the most iconic places on the coast of the gods in the night: the “garden of the gods”, located inside the cannons beast. Some wooden stakes, well anchored to the ground, with the relative information signs have been torn and thrown down by the cliffs, disfiguring an area of great landscape and cultural value.
The video surveillance cameras installed in the area clearly filmed those responsible in action at about 1:50 am last night. The faces and movements of the authors have been recorded and are currently being examined by the police. Identification is in progress.
The area has been managed for about a year by the “Acqua degli Dei” perfume and essences company, which has created a Mediterranean garden overlooking the sea, completely accessible to the public. Just a few hours before the incident, new plants had been placed to further enrich this corner of beauty and nature.
A gesture as free as serious, which does not affect only a private initiative, but the entire territory and the civic sense of the community.
In this context, it seems necessary to address a heartfelt appeal to parents and family members: it is essential to educate young people to respect the public places, nature and work of others. Those who make themselves the protagonist of such acts not only damages the common good, but also expose themselves to concrete legal consequences. The message is therefore clear: the managers have been taken up and investigations are underway. We hope that similar episodes are no longer repeated and that this is a monitor for everyone.
