Storm ahead for a Calabrian parliamentarian. The word “comrades” pronounced from the stage marked one of the most discussed moments of the constituent assembly of the party led by Roberto Vannacci, gathered in Rome to officially launch the new political path.
The first to use it was Domenico Furgiele, a deputy who recently moved from the League to Future and Freedom for Vannacci, who greeted those present by addressing the audience with that term during his speech.
The references of the movement
During the speech, Furgiele recalled what he defined as the party’s references: “God, homeland and family”. At the end of his speech he then thanked General Vannacci and performed the military salute, chanting the phrase: «Courage calls courage and victory will call victory».
The term repeated from the stage
Subsequently the same expression was also used by Lorenzo Gasperini, an exponent of the movement in Tuscany, who intervened to illustrate some points of the political program.
«Dear friends, dear comrades, can we say that?», began Gasperini amidst the applause of the participants, eliciting a new positive reaction from the audience present at the Roman assembly.
