It ended after years of litigation with a sentence of the Civil Court of Vibo Valentia The long dispute on the competence and ownership of the former state road 522, in the stretch that crosses the inhabited centers of Crossroads And Vibo Marinatheater in February 2012 of a fatal accident.
The Court recognizes ownership to the Province
According to the sentence, the property of the road section in question belongs to the Province of Vibo Valentiaas always supported by the Municipality. The judicial affair was born from the request for compensation made by the family of the victim of the 2012 accident.
The judge’s decision is based, among other things, on a technical office of office which has ascertained the presence of an official deed of transfer of the artery from Anas Spa To the Province, formalized with delivery report dated 3 October 2001. Furthermore, since it is an inhabited center with a population of less than 10,000 inhabitants, the stretch remains in charge of the provincial administration.

Further proof of the provincial ownership is contained in resolution no. 16/2023 of the province of Vibo Valentia, with which the alternating one -way one on the SP 95 (within the section covered by the dispute) was regulated to allow maintenance. Being a provision on roads, it is in fact only due to the road owner.
