The Municipality of Vibo Valentia and the Serre Regional Park have renewed and remodeled a memorandum of understanding for the protection, maintenance and promotion of the Moderate Durant Urban Park. The agreement, valid for three years with the possibility of extension, aims to improve the use of the green area, enhancing its naturalistic heritage and sensitizing citizenship on environmental issues.
The Serre Park undertakes to provide the workforce and equipment necessary for the maintenance of green and the pruning of shrubs at least three times a year, as well as performing cleaning and small maintenance interventions on existing furnishings. In addition, it will coordinate awareness and promotion activities, installing information signs and creating new furnishings to improve the reception of the park.
The Municipality of Vibo Valentia, for its part, will guarantee the operational coordination, will provide the necessary materials, will deal with the disposal of the waste deriving from maintenance and will provide spaces for the installation of billboard and environmental awareness initiatives. The protocol also provides for the stable assignment of a wooden structure for the activities of the Serre Park.
This synergy between entities represents a significant step for the protection of public green and environmental awareness, laying the foundations for a virtuous and sustainable management of the Moderate Durant Urban Park, as per the political address contained in the resolution proposed by the Councilor for the Environment, Marco Miceli, and approved by the Council.
