«The episodes that have occurred in the last few hours in Vibo Valentia, from the fire on the construction site of the Buccarelli school canteen to the discovery of an incendiary bottle in front of a commercial business, are of great concern and cannot be underestimated».

This was declared by the general secretary of the CISL Magna Grecia, Daniele Gualtieri, and the Territorial Secretary of the CISL Scuola Magna Grecia, Pasqualino Mazzitelli, expressing solidarity with the school community, the students, the staff and the economic operators involved.

«Hitting a school, moreover on a day symbolically dedicated to legality, is a serious signal that calls everyone to collective responsibility. Legality is not an abstract theme, but a necessary precondition for development, work and social cohesion.”

The CISL Magna Grecia and the CISL Scuola Magna Grecia launch an appeal to strengthen the territorial network, implementing shared and concrete actions to protect the public good and to spread a culture based on respect for the rules, starting with the involvement of young people and schools.

“A stable alliance between institutions, social partners and communities”

«We need a stable alliance between institutions, social partners and communities. A positive example – continues Gualtieri – is represented by the experience started in Lamezia Terme, where trade unions, associations, institutions, law enforcement, the world of the Church and schools have together built a common platform, capable of translating into concrete and continuous actions on the front of legality and prevention. This is the path to follow also in Vibo Valentia and in the entire territory of Magna Graecia: unite, overcome fragmentations and work together to forcefully affirm that intimidation and violence do not stop the right to development, security and dignity of our communities”.
