During a series of stringent extraordinary checks of the territory, which concluded over the weekend, the soldiers of the Vibo Valentia Company reported eight people in a state of freedom. During the activities, in particular: two people were found in possession of approximately 5 grams of marijuana and two Indian hemp plants; a third subject was found in possession of 5 grams of cocaine, a precision scale and the cash sum of 440 euros; two other people were found in possession of car parts of untraceable origin.
At a bakery business, the military personnel, together with the staff of the Labor Inspectorate Unit, ascertained the presence of three irregular workers. An administrative fine of 14,200 euros was therefore imposed and the temporary suspension of business activity was ordered.
Overall, on Friday evening alone, over 100 people and 70 vehicles were identified and numerous fines for violations of the highway code were ascertained and issued. Furthermore, two people were reported because they were caught with a blood alcohol level higher than the permitted limit and a young man was found in possession of a knife of a prohibited type. The activity is part of the broader prevention and contrast mechanism established by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Vibo Valentia, aimed at guaranteeing safety and legality throughout the provincial territory.
