A man in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson was killed in a drone attack, local authorities said on Tuesday. The victim is a 75-year-old man, who died from injuries sustained after the attack which occurred at 10.48pm local time on Thursday evening (19.48 GMT), the head of the city’s military administration, Iaroslav Chanko, said on Telegram.
This bombing occurred just as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed a direct meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. In an open letter published on Thursday evening, the Ukrainian leader assured that Kiev is “ready for a full ceasefire for the duration of negotiations” in order to find a diplomatic way out of more than four years of war, triggered by the large-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.
