The Next Gen ATP Finals 2026 are getting closer to Reggio Calabria. As far as official status is concerned, only the definitive announcement is missing, but in recent weeks the indiscretion has found further confirmation through a series of meetings held in Calabria between local institutions, ATP managers and Fitp representatives.
In the end, the last logistical aspects related to the organization of the event, which should take place in the first half of December, would have been resolved.
The Finals return to Italy
The Italian tennis and padel federation led by Angelo Binaghi, on whose board the Calabrian Joe Lappano also sits, would have thus brought the Next Gen ATP Finals back to Italy after the experience in Saudi Arabia.
The tournament, dedicated to the best under 20s on the world circuit, was hosted in Milan from 2017 to 2022, before moving to Jeddah for the last three editions.
The PalaCalafiore venue of the event
The event should take place at the PalaCalafiore, a facility with around eight thousand seats considered one of the sporting symbols of the city, already a theater in the golden years of Viola Basket.
The structure is also located next to the Rocco Polimeni tennis club, which will act as organizational support, as has already happened in the past for other international competitions hosted in Reggio Calabria, including the European Cup and the former Fed Cup.
