From 8 November to 7 December, in the evocative exhibition rooms of the former MAM in Cosenza, the exhibition “What remains of football. Half a century of memorabilia from the most popular sport in the world” will be open to visitors. The exhibition, curated by Marco Toscano, is organized and produced by Associazione N.9.

On display are over 300 memorabilia, belonging to important private collections, which will tell the stories and emotions of the last half century of football. Inside the display cases prepared for the occasion in an evocative itinerary that will cross the exhibition rooms, you will be able to admire up close the shirts worn by the players, the official pennants exchanged by the captains before the start of the matches, the tickets of the epic matches, balls, goalkeeper gloves, boots, autographs, historical figurines, very rare documents, gadgets, scarves, newspapers and photographs vintage. On display is a selection of memorabilia from various football clubs: from Milan to Rome, from Juventus to Inter, from Turin to Lazio, from Napoli to Sampdoria, from Genoa to Cosenza, as well as memorabilia from the Italian national team and the World Cup (from 1966 to 2006), from British football and a section entirely dedicated to the combination of “music and football”, and much more. The main objective of the exhibition will be to inspire new generations to rediscover the history of football and fan communities, promoting this sport as a historical and social heritage, the values of fair play, loyalty and solidarity. Today, football is pervaded by strong emotions and memories of the past, however, its identity values often seem obscured by a contemporary vision aimed at reducing it to a simple consumer product, a means for profit and social affirmation, or even a pretext for conflicts. Yet, thousands of people continue to choose to live the enchanting and engaging experience of a “football match” every day, feeling the same emotions they had as children.
Anyone who has never kicked a ball, raise your hand, everyone else hurry, the duration of the exhibition is only 30 days!
The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 8 November until Sunday 7 December at the following times: 3.30pm-8.00pm (Tuesday to Friday), 10.00am-1.00pm and 3.30pm-8.00pm (Saturday and Sunday), closed on Mondays.
