When does INPS pay in August 2026? Discover the complete calendar with all the dates, measure by measure.
August 2026 opens with an anomaly that every year generates confusion at the counter: August 1st falls on a Saturday, and so the pension arrives with two different value dates depending on whether it is collected at the post office or at the bank. For those who received their fourteenth salary in July, the August amount returns to the ordinary level. In the rest of the month, the Inclusion Allowance arrives (14th and 27th), the Single Allowance (18th and 19th) and Support for training and work, while from 1st August the window for new applications for ADI renewal opens. Here are all the dates, measure by measure, and what to do if a credit does not arrive.
Pensions: valued August 1st at the post office, August 3rd at the bank
INPS has communicated that the August 2026 pension installment is credited with value on Saturday 1st August for those who collect at the Italian Post Office and with value on Monday 3rd August for those who have the pension domiciled in a bank account. The ordinary rule – payment on the first bankable day of the month – remains valid: it is the calendar that produces the duplication, because August 1st is a Saturday and banking resumes on Monday.
For cash withdrawals at the post office counter, the limit remains a total of 1,000 euros net: beyond that threshold the INPS asks you to indicate a financial report on which to arrange the payment. Some post offices may adopt an alphabetical shift schedule, which however is not a national calendar of the Institute but an organizational practice defined at a local level: it is advisable to check times and methods at your counter, also because opening on Saturdays is not guaranteed. However, the rotation is not binding: anyone who does not show up on the day of their letter can collect it on the following days.
The indication of a pension “early to Friday 31 July” for bank credits is circulating these days: it is not reflected in the INPS communication, which has set the two dates of 1 and 3 August.
Because the August pension changes amount: fourteenth, 730 and income checks
In August, three items are concentrated on the payslip which can change the amount, and it is worth distinguishing them because they concern different audiences.
- The fourteenth was paid with the July installment to pensioners who met the requirements: it is a one-off additional sum and is not repeated in August. For those who received it, the payslip simply returns to the ordinary amount: it is not a cut.
- Since August, INPS has been applying the tax adjustments of the 730/2026 form to pensioners who have indicated the Institute as withholding agent, for the declarations sent by the Revenue Agency by 30 June. Those who are in credit receive the IRPEF refund already on the August installment; those who are in debt suffer a deduction, possibly in installments, with the warning that all installments must be closed by November 2026. For pensioners, August is the first useful month: nothing can arrive before that.
- The suspension linked to the RED 2023 campaign is also underway on the accruals for August and September, which concerns those who have not communicated their income for 2022 to INPS despite reminders: the withholding is equal to 5% of the gross taxable pension amount for the month of July 2026. The withholding is not applied to pensions up to 100 euros per month, but also for these treatments, if the position is not regularized by 15 September 2026, the revocation of the benefit and the recovery of sums not due may be triggered. To comply, you need the income reconstitution application, which can be submitted from the INPS online services or through a patronage.
The quickest way to understand which of the three items had an impact is the «Pension Payslip» service in the MyINPS reserved area, which allows you to compare the last two payslips.
Inclusion Allowance: payments on 14 and 27 August
Two appointments also in August for the ADI:
- Friday 14 August: first payment for new applications with preliminary investigation concluded positively and Digital Activation Agreement signed, with any arrears, and first monthly payment for renewals, which from 2026 is recognized at 50% of the amount due and returns full from the second;
- Thursday 27 August: ordinary monthly top-up for nuclei already in payment.
These are the two dates set for August by the annual calendar published by INPS in January, which places the first payments and arrears “on average around the 15th” of each month and the ordinary top-ups around the 27th, with deviations that change from month to month. The dates indicate the day from which the amounts are made available on the Inclusion Card.
ADI, new renewal applications will be submitted from August 1st
It’s the news of the month. With message no. 2437 of 22 July 2026, INPS communicated that in July the twelfth and final month’s salary was paid to families who had submitted a renewal application in July 2025 and received the ADI without interruptions: from Saturday 1 August those same families can submit a new renewal application.
The operational point not to be mistaken is the timing: the application is submitted only from the month following the last payment, and applications submitted in the last month of use cannot be processed with a positive outcome. In short, those who carried it forward to July will see it discarded and have to resubmit it. The rule does not only apply to August: it applies to all renewal applications, including those of families who will accrue the twelfth month’s salary in the following months.
Two other useful points before submitting your application:
- if the nucleus is unchanged, a new registration with the SIISL or a new Digital Activation Agreement is not required, which remain valid; the nucleus is considered unchanged even if the only changes are births or deaths and even if a different member presents the application. However, if the group has changed, an updated ISEE, new registration with the SIISL and a new PAD are required, and the payment takes effect only upon completion of the obligations;
- the details of the disadvantage certifications that are still valid must be reported. Expired ones must be renewed before submitting the application: indicating one that is no longer valid blocks the investigation.
The obligation remains to attend the first appointment with social services within 120 days, which is repeated at each renewal. However, the version that continues to circulate online should be archived, that of “18 months, a month’s stop and then renewal at the full amount”: the month of suspension belonged to the previous regime and was eliminated by the 2026 Budget law, which in exchange set the first month’s payment for each renewal at 50%. As for the extraordinary contribution of up to 500 euros that we often read about, it was a transitional measure reserved for specific situations: it was never an ordinary component of the renewal.
Single check: credits on 18 and 19 August
For households that already receive the benefit, without new applications or changes, accreditation is expected on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 August 2026, according to the annual calendar set by INPS with message no. 3931 of 24 December 2025. There are two fixed days: the indication of a third day of accreditation, the 17th, which appears on some sites, does not correspond to the official calendar.
Instead, the end-of-month window is followed by the first installments of new applications, normally paid in the last week of the month following the month of submission, and the installments that contain an adjustment, by credit or debit. Be careful, however, not to be alarmed: not every change shifts the payment. An update of the ISEE or the composition of the core can generate a recalculation and bring that monthly payment to the end of the month, while the change of IBAN is not an adjustment and does not produce slippages, if anything a delay if the new coordinates have not been validated.
A check that is worth doing in August concerns children who have turned 18: the basic fee goes from a range of 58.30-203.80 euros per month to 29.10-99.10 euros, and up to the age of 21 the allowance is only payable under certain conditions: attendance of a study or training course, internship or work activity with a total income of less than 8,000 euros per year, registration as unemployed at public employment services or carrying out universal civil service. The child’s card must be updated on the INPS portal, otherwise the payment is blocked.
NASpI and Dis-Coll: no national calendar
Unemployment benefits do not have a single date valid for everyone, and do not depend on the territorial headquarters: the times change based on the starting date of the benefit, the date of submission of the application and the processing of the individual case. Based on the ordinary timing – which is not an official calendar – for those who already receive NASpI or Dis-Coll, the payments of the monthly salary accrued in July arrive in the first half of August, while for new recipients the first credit usually occurs later in the month, with any arrears.
Since the date depends on the individual case, the only reliable feedback is the personal one: the citizen’s social security file, the MyINPS area or the “Payment status” service.
Training and job support: how dates work
The ADI calendar simply does not apply to the 500 euro monthly allowance from the SFL. The payment provisions follow two windows, one around the middle and one around the end of the month, and which of the two applies depends on when the application and the participation conditions are finalized: for applications that satisfy the conditions by the 15th, payment is made from the 27th of the same month; for those that accrue after the 15th, from the 15th of the following month. Even a first payment, therefore, can fall within the end-of-month window.
In any case, accreditation remains subject to actual participation in the planned activities and their correct registration: the effective date must be verified in the INPS personal area and on the SIISL platform.
Purchase Card: the bimonthly top-up does not arrive in August
Anyone waiting for the 80 euros of the Purchasing Card in the month of August will not find a new top-up, and it is not a delay: the social card credits fall in the odd months – January, March, May, July, September and November – and that for the two-month period July-August has already been arranged at the beginning of July. There is no official calendar that fixes the day: the findings place the start of accreditations on Friday 3 July, with progressive visibility on the cards in the following days. The contribution remains 80 euros every two months, equal to 40 euros per month, which can be spent on food, medicines and health expenses and for the payment of electricity and gas bills.
However, in August the first credits or arrears may appear on the card for those who have recently obtained the benefit: what does not arrive is the ordinary bimonthly top-up. The next one, that of the two-month period September-October, is expected in the first days of September, based on the practice followed so far and not on a guaranteed date.
To find out if a sum has been loaded, simply check the card balance:
- on the toll-free number 800.666.888, free from a landline, following the guided voice;
- at authorized postal counters, where it is also possible to request a list of the latest transactions.
If the credit for July is not yet visible, before going to the post office you should check two things. The first is the ISEE 2026: without an updated and correctly processed DSU the top-up can remain suspended, and the threshold not to be exceeded this year is 8,230.81 euros (from 70 years of age and over the treatment and income limit is 10,974.42 euros). The second is the age requirement, which is the most frequent cause of exclusion for families: the card is valid for children under three years of age and the right ceases upon reaching the third year, while for the elderly the benefit is recognized from 65 years of age and over.

The dates indicated may undergo slight variations based on the processing of individual procedures and the technical times of credit institutions and Poste Italiane.
